Sunflowers, why are mine droopy?
Question:I brought some flowers & in the bouguet of lilly's I brought 2 sunflowers & couple of other unusual flowers (forgot their name), however i'm a bit annoyed because they weren't cheap & the sunflower heads are just sitting droopy! Id this normal am I doing something wrong??

Did you get any flower food in a sachet with the flowers? If not, you should be able to get one from a flower shop - then just add it to the water.
You could also try adding -
ONE TEASPOON OF SUGAR
ONE TEASPOON OF BLEACH
ONE TABLESPOON OF LEMON JUICE
to a vase filled with WARM water
- That should help.x
Ps. Adding asprin to the water will not work.
Try refreshing the water and cutting about an inch off them stem, sometimes heat does that to them.
Sunflowers need good sunlight from the time of sunrise to sunset. Sunflowers are very sensitive and will follow the sun as soon as it shines in your garden and if there is no sun...they will not lift their heads. There are two types..the giant single which grow to about 10ft and they are gorgeous and there is the doublebloom but do not grow so tall.
They need sunshine as their name emplys but try using some miracle gro or fertalizer to perk them up.
Sounds daft but give them an asprin
Thats about the most stupid question ever if you live in England, they need sun....
