How can I safely put fire in my swimming pool?
Question:I'm throwing a huge Pirates of the Caribbean themed 18th birthday/graduation party next week, with tons of over-the-top dramatic stuff, and I really wanna find a way to float fire in my swimming pool. Are there any methods or products designed for doing something like this?
Whether it's one big flame or a bunch of little ones or somewhere in between, I don't care, I just need fire in my swimming pool. :P
Answers:
Pour a bunch of gasoline on top, it will float on top of the water and it will stay together and burn off and work great!
Floating candles
sold in pool supply stores
I've never heard of such a thing, sorry. Maybe there's a type of material designed for such a thing.
get something that will float and put something in them, like propane or gasoline or just candles!! and if you want a big one find something large and not thin plastic, and just fill it up with gas. but it wont last long
um idk thanks for the 2 points :p
good luck and happy bday and graduation or whatever
The only thing I can think of is a bunch of floating candles.
you could float small tealight candles and for every candle make another with dry ice, so there is smoke and fire in your pool.ooohhhh kewl! hope everything works out. you might even be able to purchase a bunch of small oil lamps that you could set on something creative that floats, those will prob last longer than the tealights anyways.
I would find something that floats, and is not flammable and put candles on it. I also liked the other persons idea with the dry ice. I would also call the fire dept. and put them on notice,
or have a phone nearby to call 911. Have fire extinguishers nearby. You did not mention if you would have people in the pool. Not a good idea!!
Sink a long hose, from the propane tank on your barbecue pit, on the bottom of the pool with a brick. Turn on gas until you get a steady stream of bubbles. Ignite.
Years ago, at night my friends and I would put 1/2 inch of fuel oil in a 1/2 lb coffee can. Rocks on the bottom to keep it upright and a rag for a wick. We would let 5 or 6 loose in the bay as the tide was going out. It was an impressive sight when let go in 3 minute incriments. How about small cans of sterno on floating on circle's of styrofoam.
P.S. Don't do it if it has a plastic liner or if there will be swimmers
