Is it cheaper to build or buy a house in UK?

Question:In th UK, is it cheaper to build a house or to buy one? Is there perhaps a site giving this info. Thanks

Answers:
I would have thought that the answer to this would be fairly obvious.
If we look at the profession of building and assume those involved in it do so freely, have not been forced to spend time and money against their will, that they actually make a living doing it.then logical progression should enable you to work out the answer to your question..

BUILD!
In the long run

its cheaper to build a house

Good luck
Depends what you want. The cost of building land (land with planning permission) can be very expensive. However, if you buy land that doesn't have planning permission you run the risk of it not being allowed and being saddled with a plot you have no use for.

If you're buying, you buy the property and pay the stamp duty, legal fees etc. If you're building, you have the cost of the plot, architects, builders, project managers etc. Have a look at www.self-build.co.uk for more info and places to go. Alternatively, you might want to look at buying a property for renovation.

I would say it's cheaper to live in a another country, the UK is far too expensive no matter what you do!
