I have bought a sewing machine. .?
Question:I have threaded it from above but it won't yet sew. Is it meant to be threaded from the bobbin and the upper thread? (2 threads going through the needle?)
Answers:
You should have one thread from the bobin at the top which goes through the arm that moves up and down and then through the needle. you should have another thread that comes form the small bobbin underneath which comes up but does not then go through the needle. you need to look at your instructions to see how to do this.
you need the book of destructions
I bought one 2 years ago and i still haven't mastered it even after following the instructions.
Yes! Both threads must be in the needle for the sewing machine to work.
Happy sewing!
Go online and get the book or manual, it wil lshow you. You could also go to a local sewing center and they will show you how to do it., some are tricky.
No don't put both threads in the needle -- it would break it off. Just lay the bobbin thread towards the back with the upper laying next to it. You could have the bobbin in upside down. You have to keep trying different things and see what works. When I first got my machine, it took me a solid evening to figure everything out, and a near nervous breakdown included!! The book that came with the machine should be very helpful.
no but you do need to bring the bobbin thread up above the plate
you need to (whilte the bobbin loading door is open) hand crank the treaded needle down and up, it will pick up the bobbin thread and it will pull it up above the plate
have youals omade sure you have threaded the needle through the tensioner as this is a common reason for a machine to not sew
also did you but the bobbin thread through the bobbin tensioner?
either read your manual or go back to the shop and get them to give you a quick demo
Try searching for the manufacturer online. They should have a manual or be able to tell you where to get one. Go to a local sewing shop/ center and ask them. They sometimes have sewing classes for a nominal fee too. In my experience(several sewing machines and thirtysome years of sewing) I have never had a machine that had you put both threads through the needle. But maybe there's another kind of machine out there that I don't know about. Good luck!
Put thread on the bobbin, then depending on what type of machine you have the bobbin will either go into a designated space under the feed dog area (the little ridges that help move the fabric through) or into a bobbin case then into the designated spot. Thread up the top of the machine and bring that thread through the needle. Then to bring the bottom thread up, hold on to the end of the thread that is through the needle with your left hand and then use the hand wheel on the side with your right hand turning it towards you. the thread will loop under the machine and bring up the bobbin thread, you just push this to the back then you should be able to sew,
No both threads do not need to be in the needle!! the thread that goes over the top of the machine needs to be threaded through the needle. Then you but some more thread into the spool casing turn the wheel at the right hand side of the machine towards you til the needle goes down and back up again then pull the thread towards the back and 2 pieces of thread should be hanging out the back, they should pull with ease. You are now ready to sew.
only one thread goes through the needle the other comes from the spool underneath maybe you are not threading it from top to needle properly you really need instructions.
First thread it up at the top and through the eye of the needle. Then put the bobbin with cotton in it, and put it in the bobbin holder under the base of the needle. Turn the handle of the sewing machine until the needle goes down the hole and as it comes up the thread from the bobbin is brought up with it. Straighten out the two threads together and you should be able to sew.
Thread the needle with the cotton from the reel then place bobbin in nest gently rorate wheel. The thread from the reel will snatch up the cotton from bobbin and pull it through the plate. The thread on the bobbin does not go thru the needle, place both threads facing away from you and begin.
