Help please we have ants in my daughters room everywhere?
Question:what kind of ants are these and how are they getting in my daughters room. there small and black with stinger looking things on them. my husbands looked for holes and cracks in that room and found none. so please tell me where are they coming in at? we sprayed ant killer and tried different kinds of spray and there not dying. we dont know where there coming from please tell me where there coming from and how come i see double the amount of aunts now after we sprayed than when we first noticed there there. we dont allow no one to eat or drink in my daughters room so the ants arent coming in from food or drink being spilt. so please tell me why there in her room and no where else in are house.

There are not any preventative products on the market that a homeowner can buy that are effective.As far as things you can do,Eliminate conducive conditions,Make sure there is no wood-soil contact,trees touching the home,moisture conditions in the home or against it,rotten wood is replaced and sealed,mulch is not piled against the house, and firewood is stored away from the home.The only products that will work are done by a professional,do not take shortcuts in protecting your home.Call a Pest Control Professional and have a proper treatment performed.The best products are baits.Sprays just scatter the ants and will result in a larger infestation.As far as treating the wood,if you can find Borate treated wood then that will help

Carpenter Ants do a lot of damage- call them or I can call them for you- my brother works for them.

the ants could be carpenter ants, they feed on wood mainly more than anything else. have you tried using ant poison yet, for example, put some ant poision and mix it into a sugary paste and try that cuz spraying only kills the ants that come into contact with the spray, in order for you to kill the colony you must kill the queen, once shes gone the ants will be gone and the sugar paste lets the workers return to the nest and feed it to her so she dies quicker than the spray will kill her. good luck and let me know how things turn out.
They grow in colonies and the home was built some time close or over the colonies there. They tunnel and come up any cracks or crevice they can get in to like incoming telephone lines, gas meter pipes, etc.

sprinkle it around the outside walls of your house. and in your daughters room on the floor.
They pick up the particles and take them back to the colony and it kills them.
If you find a nest outside, sprinkle some of the powder on it.
