Bad fuse in my kitchen?
Question:Not sure if it still happens, but I use a pizza oven like the kind you see in bars (rectangular silver box) and sometimes my microwave. I noticed before when you use them both at the same time though it trips the circuit breaker. Was wondering if that's normal or if it's a problem that needs to be looked at.
Answers:
Check the amp rating for your pizza oven and the microwave, if they add to more than the circuit breaker is rated for, then things are fine you just need to stop using them both at the same time.
That's normal. Microwave ovens and a pizza oven operated on the same fused circuit at the same time demands more current than the fuse can handle. Nothing is wrong with the house wiring, you're just expecting the house wiring to do more than it was designed to do in the first place. Another answer, plug the microwave oven and the pizza oven into seperately fused circuits.
Sounds like you are drawing too many amps for the circuit. Try plugging the appliances into separate circuits if you are using them at the same time.
Many times microwaves have a dedicated circuit, you may consider having an electrician adding a circuit just for the microwave.
