What can I put in a kiddie pool to keep it clean?
Question:What can I put in a kiddie pool that will keep mosquito larva out and also keep it form getting slimy, but still have the water safe for a todler and plants?
I dont think it's very economical to empty it every time. I try to use the water to water my vegetable garden, but still, it's alot of effort. How can I make the water last longer?
I'm thinking epsom salts or a few tablespoons of bleach?
Answers:
I use regular bleach. I put it in at night. By morning it's all evaporated and safe. You can still put the water on the garden.
I would use fresh water daily.
I don't think it is safe to put anything in it. Empty it and use the water for your grass and plants. Have you really looked at the water when they are done? I don't know about your pool...but ours ends up with lots of grass and looks quite murky. I would never go back into that so my child wont either.
i would go to where the sell hot tub/spa supplies and get a cake of the bleach they use. they would be able to tell you how much to the amount of water. if this is not an option clorox bleach will do fine. i really think you're talking half cup to a cup. you need to do the job but not have a smell, and certainly not enough to get a baby sick. yep, you had better talk to the pool people. i picked the brain of a spa servicer but didn't ask about little kids.
I had a large kiddie pool and I bought this chlorine in Walmart. It is for very small pools. They sell it in the kiddie pool section by the toys. It is safe, and keeps the water clean, and free of mosquito's.
