I got an old propane grill, when i turn it on the fire doesent come out evenly is that bad?

It just means that the burner needs to be cleaned or possibly replaced. I don't think it is a hazard though.

Yes it will heat unevenly and could be a hazard.You can get a new burner at most hardware stores or even wal mart.They dont cost much and you'll enjoy a safe grilling experience.
