Help! Neighborhood kids are pelting my house with balls.?
Question:I live near a park. A 6-foot stockade fence separates my yard and the park. The neighborhood kids play baseball in the park and hit towards my house. When the ball goes over the fence, the kids climb the fence and come into my yard. The balls also hit my house. I am afraid that they will break my windows. What can I do?
Answers:
Let kids be kids and enjoy the game of baseball, didn't you ever watch the movie Sandlot?

Let them know, you don want them to get hurt climbing the fence and if they hit the ball over the fence it now becomes your ball. The way we used to play, is if you hit it over the fence it was an automatic out.
Or you could buy a Pitbull and train it to attack small children, just a suggestion? JK
Move. The park was there when you moved in, no?
build a bigger fence
LOCK YOU GATE
MOVE
PUT UP A NO TREEPSSING SIGN
put up a huge net like they have at golf courses.
tell them if they want to play ball, they need to hit it in another direction away from the houses. then if that doesn't work, and if you know their parents...i'd let them know what they are doing.
well. tell them to stop. and if they dont call the police and tell them your being disturbed haha
Talk to the city. Maybe ball playing isn't allowed in the area of the park that is close to the houses, so they'll have to step up & enforce this more, & put up signs. If there's a designated ball field in close proximity to your property, then you have a reasonable expectaion of privacy, & protection of your property, so they will have to take steps to put up necessary barriers to keep the balls from comming over your fence.
Get a dog and put it in the yard.
You could tell the neighborhood kids to play in the other direction so that the balls don't hit your house. You could also ask them if they want to play somewhere else. If they don't listen to you, you could tell their parents. You could also make them pay if they break one of your windows. You could ask them to use a tennis ball or a soft/safety baseball, because those won't break your windows. Tell them to ask you if they can go in your yard and get their ball, or if you could get it yourself.
If the park belongs to the city/town - contact them. Let them know of your situation. It may be possible to have a larger fence installed / higher or a higher pole with netting across your boundary line so that the balls bounce back into the field. If they are not willing to listen, you may want to contact a lawyer.
you should go out there and hit balls toward their house.
