Having a HUGE garage sale, a little help?
Question:OK, i have had many garage sales before but, people have either stolen things or they say a whole bunch of things to make me confused and then they get a smaller price for something. How can i prevent this??
Also once a lady blamed my really good friend about something "she said" to get a lower price but she never did say that, Any help on this kinda stuff?

Just be firm, when they start trying to talk over you and dicker with the price, just stop them by saying, the price is firm! If you don't understand them, tell them to repeat what they just said, and then say, I'm sorry, but the price is firm. If they try to bring your friend into it, just say " well, I apologize if you were misinformed, but my price is firm". A lot of people who go to garage and yard sales are pro's who buy stuff cheap and resale it. A good day for them is when the talk someone down on their prices. If you can't take less, be firm! :o)
Have little price stickers on everything, or have these tags that can be hung with elastics, they are more visible. Also, always have a second person out there with you.
I 100% agree with the first 2 ladies. I had a yard sale and I think I lost money. I got confused and upset. If you can't afford the little stickers, there is always the whole table each item is like $1 each. Ya know, place a card out that says it for each table. Anyways, Good Luck!
Make sure everybody working your sale knows what the prices are if you aren't using tags. Tell them not to go down in prices without you around. It is a good idea to put things in price groups, like everything for a dollar goes on this table, everything for fifty cents, over there, etc. That way, you can keep a tab on things better. Good luck!
