I purchased a woolen quilt over ebay and its supposed to be 500gsm. It feels way too thin,?

Question:Does anybody know how to check the weight of these things so I can determine if I've rec'd the correct Product??

Answers:
Measure the size
Figure the area in meters
Weight the thing (at the post office if you have to)
Convert weight to grams.
Divide weight by area to get grams/meter.
Howl.

I have no idea what gsm is, however I never heard of a woolen "quilt" either. In the USA I know there are woolen blankets (which are somethwhat thin but were used by the military and are quite warm). It being eBay I would think you would be determining if you wanted to pay a certain amount for a certain item. If you have looked at the picture (seen the item) and determined that's what you want for the price you wanted to pay and you won the bid then you "bought it". If you like what you got then it's fine, but if you feel you were deceived for what you thought it was then it would be the seller's determination if they would take it back and let the second bidder take it (if there was a second bidder), but if he lost money on the deal then he might not be willing to take it back. eBay is a "buyer beware" auction. Take a look at the ad that was on eBay (the website page) and see if they have a return policy. I mean it might say that if you return it then you are responsible for the return postage. So what was the price of the item, is it worth losing the money for the postage? Or the ad might have said no exchanges. So you see, the weight doesn't matter, if it looks like the picture then you got the right item.
you didn't get it from Mooree did you? you know the old saying, 'skinny as a Mooree...., sorry i know your being serious, but i am of no damn help at all.
