Memory foam mattress topper is too hot!?
Question:I bought a 2.5 inch thick memory foam "topper" from Costco and while it's very comfortable it's too hot. Does memory foam breathe? The other night I woke up sweating even though there is a down mattress cover over the memory foam. My back was actually hot to the touch. I wasn't sweating due to a hot bedroom; it was about 65 degrees.
I'm thinking about getting rid of it and buying a pillow top mattress.
OK, crappy question but I was just wondering if anyone else had a similar experience.
Answers:
I'm thinking the down mattress cover is what's making it so hot. Take that off, put on a cotton one & see how that does for you. I bet you are much more comfortable during the night & not getting so hot. Between the foam & the down, it's probably holding in heat. A cotton one would let the foam "breathe" a little more. Not a crappy question.
Take care.

The primary advantage of memory foam mattress pad is comfort and support provided at a far lower price than that of memory foam mattress. You position the mattress pad on your bed, especially the one having the sturdiest support. To break in the pad, sleep directly above the foam, instead of the cover sheet. This will hasten the process of breaking in and should be done slowly over a period of time.
