Has anyone ever bought very high thread count sheets (800+)? Were they any good?

Question:...specifically ones of "Nile Valley" or "Hotel Collections." I hear that sometimes the super high TC don't feel any better than a 250TC. What is the brand of your favorite high thread count sheets?

Answers:
800 will definately feel smoother than 250 count. 800 will wrinkle less. BUT the 800 will also be heavier and not as cool, as air has a harder time circulating through a super high thread count. Stick with 400 to 600 count and you will get ultra soft and still stay cool while you sleep.

not 800 but i have 400 & they r great so i can imagine what 800 feels like... wow
I think mine are 800 or 1200 count. I got them at Target on a wedding registry (I'd probably only buy myself 180 count :) They are very nice. I think one of the more important differences between sheets is the type of cotton (or other fiber) used. Egyptian cotton is ultra soft and gets softer after each washing. I think both thread count and type of fiber are important when picking really nice sheets.
