I have the same problem but one of neighbours doesn't get them they get spiders instead, so I'm not complaining.
May be a bit extreme but my brothers dog loves to eat them so why not adopt a stupid dog!!
you may have a damp problem check that out first otherwise they will keep coming back no matter what you try

They will keep coming in. Spray under your skirting boards with an insect spray and it will kill the ones you have.
They taste scrumptious if you fancy eating them instead.
If you put down crawling insect powder that should do it, I get them at times in the bathroom and there is no wood rot or damp. I hate them.
