Can I plant the seeds out of an actual sunflower?

Question:I want to grow sunflowers and have been drying some to get the seeds out for a couple days now, just not sure if this is possible. Would love to know. thanks!

Answers:
yes, but as they may or may not be natural, plant a couple in each hole, and a lot of them at that! this will ensure that most of them (if not all) will come up.

I would put 3-4 to each hole in case they get eaten or don't germinate after buying some inexpensive seeds since you don't know if yours have been chemically treated, cooked or salted.
yes
Well... uh... <how to put this>...

Just where do you think sunflower seeds come from? Maple trees?
Yes,but the sunflower needs to stay on the plant until it dies and turns brown naturally. Then you can pop out the seeds and plant them. Most garden centers sell several varieties of sunflower seeds in the $1.00-$2.00 range.
