Answers:
Secondhand shops, (its fashionable to "recycle" now) or Ikea.
There are thrift stores or secondhand stores. Goodwill is one.
A good second hand furniture store or flea market is your
best place.
car boor sales or garage sales - sometimes auctions can be good if there is no reserve and a bad showing on the day !
Well secondhand is ok but if you want new stuff go to Big Lots or Wal mart.
Ikea, because its cheap and good quality.
Used furniture dealers, thrift shops, Salvation army all offer some pretty nice stuff really cheap.
up and around the corner no on cares
for new stuff, it has to be ikea , argos or tesco direct
answer one is right but remember that you get what you pay for
second hand...or if you can deal with pressed wood wlamart has some cute chests
Try a U-do-it furniture shop, where you put the finish on it, yourself. The furniture is inexpensive, and you get a chance to check it for any problems. After you finish it, you have a one of a kind piece.
Try Craigslist . There is even a section on Craigslist where everything is given away for free. Also, look in the newspaper for yard sales, estate sales, moving sales. Salvation Army and other thrift stores sell things cheaply. Look in the yellow pages for a list of thrift stores.
www.craigslist.com
tried looking online. second hand furniture's not that bad either...all can be done cheaply
A really good second hand shop.or go to FREECYCLE
if youre in countries that have Emmaus shops try one of those, they take in old stuff and recondition it before selling on
Come to SM Philippihnes.
IKEA is good - we've bought a lot of things there. Have some fabulous bookcases, too.
If you sign up for their family member scheme, (you can do that there) you will be entitled to member's perks, like some discount offers on various things and free soft beverages in the cafe. It will also ensure that you receive the IKEA catalogues.
During the summer months, there are more "tag, garage, or yard" sales than you can shake a stick at. A lot of them have wonderful furniture selling for practically nothing. You can negotiate and get them to come down even further most of the time. If you are in a big city, take a drive out to a suburb or look in local community papers and you will see loads of sales outside or in someones garage. This is the dirt cheap way of buying furniture. Someones trash, your treasure is the way to look at it, and remember, it isn't trash!
Freecycle - it's all free and you can pick up some amazing things. Find your local one on yahoo groups.
Flea Markets, Farmers Markets, Garage Sales, Yard Sales, Estate Sales, Auctions (if you're *REALLY* lucky).
You can also swing by college/uni dorms at the end of semester and buy stuff from the students. Or, if you don't mind risking some ... adventures ... drive around late at night before the garbage man does his rounds and pick-up the furniture you find there.
Mind, you, the stuff you find waiting pick-up is not necessarily...sanitary, or even safe to use. But it's free...
IKEA
for craigslist, the site is www.craigslist.org
Ikea is fairly cheap. When we decorated our bedroom, we got all our bedroom furniture there for a great price.
Look in the classified ad of your local newspaper under household furnishings. They have great buys on quality furniture. There's also the budget dept. in the furniture stores and you can also check out garage sales or thrift stores. Better yet, in the the better neighborhoods, you can find find dressers and tables among other things that people throw away.
Ikea, it's cheap
Theres a lot of stuff going for free in Hull at the moment, some bits may need airing though.
Register with re-cycle.co.uk. You can pick things up for free once you've registered. Also good for recycling your unwanted bits and pieces. Charity shops, supermarket notice boards or put a wanted items ad in your local paper/supermarket. Hope this helps.
