What are the things called that go on top of your stove, to put over the burner to sit the pots on?


Question:This may be a stupid question, but i can not fgure out what they are called?? there are 4 of them and they are usually cast iron for gas stoves. am i making any sense?

I know what your talking about but never thought of what they are called. Probably a gas burner grate.
LOL! They are called burner covers.
BURNER COVERS! Oh, and they make little things that go under the burner, but I cannot remember what they are called...LOL! They are referred to at my house as "the silver things on the stove" HAHAHA!
