Any ideas on fixing up an ugly concrete patio?
Question:I've tried outdoor carpet, but I hated it so I tore it up. I'm thinking about putting down rocks to cover the whole thing.

I saw an ugly concrete patio turn absolutely beautiful on a home design show. They used a reddish brown stain on it. It looked like marble or something afterward. Even the cracks gave it a nice patina. Check out http://www.hgtv.com for more info.
get rid of the ugly concrete- dig up the slabs and put in some soil, then plants will grow and you will help the planet!!
There are several things you could do. You could build a frame around it (think arbor or something) and put in patio furniture, a grill, etc. It would look so nice that all of the attention would be brought away from the ugly concrete. Or, like you said, you could just go over top of it with something else.slate, spanish tiles, etc.
Oh don't put rocks on it, how will you walk? Welcome to the ugly concrete patio club! I have the same situation. I put plants all around ,and put big rocks around the plants. I have hanging plants everywhere, and a wicker swing at one side. Some of my plants are actually tree's in flower pots. Big trees. Than I put a Outdoor area rug in the middle, and it has a jungle vine print on it .It can be hosed off without harm. There is a wicker chair next to the swing, and a wicker table with a glass top. The humidity from watering all the plants really makes it feel tropical. I'm thinking of making a little waterfall with some big Terra cotta pots, and rocks around it. Maybe ferns would look good there. That is just some ideas to think about, and I really like the waterfall idea. Bye
Try thin pavers. They are made for applications such as yours and come in different colors.
