Do you think it may be real soon?

Question:I think technology is developing so fast. If you travel too much and if you leave all the valuable stuff at home and concerned about burglary, I always dream a home which looks very empty but when you come home click a button on a swtich or remote control all the furnitures come up from the doors or from ground but you will be the one only controling the remote. I think it makes sense to me what do you think?Would not be so nice?

Answers:
With RFID technology it may be possible to uniquely identify the owner of the home/apartment by installing the tag as part of the person (imbedded into the body perhaps)... or for less intrusive processes - as part of your wallet.

By simply walking up to your door and turning the handle, the security system would scan the area and determine if the correct card is within proximity. If so, all furniture would pop/fold out.

Makes things hassle free. Imagine pre-scanning your friends so that if they show up to your place, they can make sure the place is undisturbed or feed your cat. Then head out and the system would track everyone who's entered your apartment.

It may be sooner than you expect, just depends on how welcoming people will be of sticking chips and tags under their skin.

That would be so awesome.
If someone invented that, they could probably make it happen.
What I would like to happen is, say your chatting to your friend online *Text or Web cam etc* And if you throw an object at the screen, they could get it. That would be awesome!
It sounds interesting but to auto-hide all belongings would require a home that would have enourmous safe spaces. Factor in the cost to electrically and mechanically maneuver all belongings and it would become much more cost effective to install steel roll-down blinds in every window and beef up the locking mechanisms and strength of the framing on the doors.

At least that's what I think. :)
Did you watch the Jetsons? I think they could do it now, and could have done it a long time ago . But who would want to do that? I think it's a lot of cleaning, and what if you wanted to either get new furniture,or move it around? The places that held the old stuff, might not accommodate the new stuff. I don't know, I'm thinking of trap doors. Bye
I personally would hate a house like that. A house is a home when you can see all the things that are inside it. It's the personality of the people living there. I couldn't think of any thing worse than walking into an empty house and using buttons to produce what you want. It would be so clinical.
