I know something that will get rid of them, it's brilliant!
For years i've been battling thousands and thousands of the little gits in my house and garden, and tried everything from commercial ant powders to all the old wives tales and nothing ever worked.
A few months ago i found something called 'Ant Stop Bait Station', it comes in a pack of two round discs which are about 4cm in diameter and 1 cm in height.
I only used one to see how it went, just stuck it outside and it flaming worked.
Not seen a single ant anywhere, they take the killer back to the nest which kills off all the rest, BRILLIANT!
Ant Stop Bait Station, made by a company called Scotts, i got it from a DIY store but you might get it in garden centres or maybe supermarkets.

Bait traps work really well.
get a little bit of poison, add some sugar to it and put it in a small lid on the ground. they'll carry it back to the nest. it'll be like ethnic cleansing on ants

I have the same problem some times.. Either you call pest control or if you wanna do it yourself, I think you should buy some roach & ant killer or something they do not come for a long time when you spray it.
U can buy ant powder from your local pet shop or diy store, b careful if u have pets though as u may have to move them to a different room when using it.
! found that kitchen sink scourer is better than any ant powder and is not dangerous to humans. Also, try buying one of those plug in repellents where there is a certain wave that makes insects go away
If you're referring to Argentine ants, they're there to stay. Sorry. You can manage them by not having the things they like to eat lying around. They're sweet and fat eaters. In places that aren't humid, they'll also look for sources of water.
buy a anteater that way you are giving a home to a lonely animal

believe me its fantastic! you will not be dissapointed and its not expensive. Try hardware stores you will not be able to get it in supermarkets...
I have used it when i had loads of ants including flying ants the following year they were gone. you should at least give it a try.

For years we have had swarms of black ants which we tried to control with powder and spray without success. In desperation we tried an electronic device which works on high frequency sound waves, and is plugged into a mains socket. The electricity consumption is minimal. At the time of buying from Maplins the price was about £15. Have seen them since but at about twice the price. Shop around, I think it is worth a try.
