How can I speed up the germination process??
Question:Of pepper seeds? I have them soaking in a wet paper towel. Any other ideas?
Answers:
Peppers require a lot of heat , & can take awhile . Put them in the warmest spot possible , such as against a south/west facing wall, on blacktop, stone, or other heat generating surface . If you must do it inside , put them in an open plastic bag , on top of the refrigerator . (Kinda late , isn't it?)
ps.
In a plastic bag, in the direct sun , you might cook them , so it's an " either"/ or" situation . Plastic bag in bright , but indirect sun , would be best .
Thats how I would do it.
put the wet paper towels in plastic sandwich bag and put it in a sunny window. the clear plastic will act as a greenhouse and the warmth will help the plants to germinate faster. makes sure the paper towels stay damp!
that will work they take from about 1 day to a week maybe even a month they do it when there ready. Try to put them in just a cup of water in the sun on a window sill or something or put the paper towels in a plastic bag so it stays wet and put it in the sun
That might work but you can put them right in some starting soil just barely cover with soil and water, Put something like toothpicks or Popsicle sticks in the pot to hold up a clear plastic sandwich bag or freezer bag off the top of the soil and close the bag around the pot. This will hold in the moisture while the seeds germinate like a little greenhouse. Don't set it in the sun on the counter will do. After the seeds germinate you can take off the plastic bag and slowly introduce them to the sun.
