I found ants in my kitchen for the 4th time this week can you please give me some tips or suggestions on how?
Question:to get rid of them for good? I never really had a problem with ants until this summer they are small black ants. I find them near the windowsill and near the kitchen sink, I have sprayed and sprayed where I have seen the ants with Hot Shot ant killer spray and its says its supposed to work for up to 12 weeks but its not working! I havent seen ants anywhere else but the windowsill/kitchen sink. Can you help me please? Thanks!

Ant bait stations. you can get them at Wal-mart. They work slow, but they work. When you put them out-don't spray, the spray will taint the bait-then the ants will not eat it.
i call them piss ants lol a natural way to repel them is to lay out bay leaves all around your kitchen, hidden of course or even just sitting on the counter, it seems to repell them away. And of course wipe your counters with lysol at least in the morning and at night, the ants leave a chemical trail for others to follow
Make sure that there is no open sugary substances in your house. The reason that the ants are in your house is caused by an open source of sugar (or is there spilled sugar somewhere?) Also, my friend used these ant killer traps and they really worked for him. Good luck.

There are two main reasons they come in. Food and shelter. If you have heavy rains they will come in to keep from drowning. As far as food goes, they love sweets.
For a permanent fix, go outside and caulk anywhere you think they could be getting in.
Inside it might be time for a spring cleaning. They are much smaller than we are and can find almost invisible things that we miss.
I would look for some ant bait that you can use outside to get them before they can get in.
rain sometimes drives ants in, but it's also very likely you may have spilled something sweet that maybe didn't get cleaned up as well as it might have been, since it's in the kitchen. ants don't like boric acid much, but you can also buy ant traps at wall-mart. i think think you should go outside and spray around the window trim and look for a crack or a gap that might allow them to come in and fill those areas with your spray as well. some sprays sure work better than others so don't be afraid to experiment.
I use stuff like home defense spray it get carried back to nest . take care of them quick and is kid/pet safe after dry . If it continues being a problem they like moisture so check for leaky sink or the mulch out side good luck .
With your cleaning water use Avon"s Skin-So-Soft or bay leaves.
