Anyone ever heard of a dew worm (nightcrawler) picker made from a DC volt system?

Question:I'd heard that the positive & negative posts are wired in close proximity and stabbed into the soil near a worm sighting and the current drives the worm out of the ground-- is this rumor or fact

Answers:
I have in fact heard of that, and the worms crawl to the one pole. ~
I forget whether the + or -

Just wait at night and watch em crawl up the soil
Well when was a youngin in ohio, i use to throw down a few 5 gallon buckets of soapie water, and wire an extension cord onto the rod and, drove it down into the soil, i think it worked, but i was too busy, grabbing them boogers, by hand trying not to tear them in half. It did drive them upward, i do recall. Oh the good ol'e days
FACT! it will also work by using just the + side of your house wiring, either works fine d/c you need both, a/c just hot. connect wires to heavy wire, #9, or 1/4" rods, 18-24" long, push them into the ground where you know worms are, sit back and watch the lil wigglers come out. careful using a/c do not plug in or touch after you do. it is an inlitening experience.
YEP .. it's fact ... Dave R. just gave you the way to make your own. We made ours when I was a kid out of a curtain rod and covered the end with a piece of rubber hose and then bent it so it looked like a cane. Ground a point on one end.
