Soft water and coffee?

Question:Does anyone know what may be causing this problem? I recently put in a water softener, and ever since there has been a problem with the filter in my coffee pot overflowing. I changed pots, changed brand of filter, changed the grind of the coffee, and tried the metal permanant filter that came with the new pot. The problem persists. This was never a problem before the water softener was installed. I know this sounds crazy, but I am out of ideas, and the soft water is the only variable that hasn't been changed.

Answers:
It may be that the valve is clogged with accumulation from the increased salt in the water, try running vinegar through the pot.

guessing here, but it seems that there is something that makes the water oily.which is causing the coffee grinds to stick together or the oil is plugging up the filter.
Seems that way.
I wouldn't use water softer water in the coffee pot, respect my coffee to much, try bottled water instead. And try cleaning the works.
