Do you know of a recipe for red pepper spray for my plants.?

Question:I have had a problem with squirrels eating my Chrismas Cactus when I put them on my outdoor patio during the warm weather. I need a recipe for some sort of spray which is distasteful to squirels and not damaging to my plants to prevent the squirrels from destroying my plants. I seem to remember hearing of a spray made of red pepper that is used as an animal repellent. Your help in this matter will be very much appreciated.

Answers:
Place a handful of hot peppers in a large container and add a quart of boiling water. Soak the peppers overnight. Strain the peppers and add a few drops of mild dish detergent to make the spray to protect the plants.
