I just changed to compact bulbs, and now one of them's buzzing, but the other two aren't. What can I do?

Question:The wattage is correct. I changed two of them -in the same fixture- and they were fine.

Then I put another bulb -out of the same package as the two I used before- in to a different lamp and it's blinking and buzzing.

I checked, it's screwed in properly.

However, when I unscrewed the old one it felt like there was some sort of crackly stuff. It was in my mom's bedroom and she hasn't changed the bulbs in there for a long time, it's been burned out a while.

Is there a safe way to try and clean it? I can't really look and see...

Answers:
i dont know...perhaps throw it out and buy a new one. or swtich them all around...

Replace the noisy one and take it back for a refund.
