Could you recommend a nice Oriental plant to brighten up an office desk?

Question:I don't want to get a bonsai because they are too much hassle.

Answers:
Rugs are oriental, and are for walking on, people however are not to be tread upon. They are Asian. A plant can certainly be oriental! Don't let the nay-sayers get to you.

A small palm tree or a jade plant either can have the oriental look you are seeking after. You should be selective when you buy a container for the plant, though. The container will make or break the oriental look. Something black with clean lines might be a ood choice.

A Jade, they have a strong oriental look. They are quite hearty if you get them from the right source. AND if you put a fallen leaf in water it can grow a brand knew plant. And they grow for years, some are the size of small tree. They are very easy to prun too.

JADE PLANT!
What about a jade...they are beautiful and have a sort of bonsai "feel" to them.
oriental is a racist term. I'm half japanese and very offended
A bamboo plant is lovely, very "asian" and grows well in an office (I have one!)...and is quite "hardy"
Jade plants can be very "fussy" and drop their leaves.
what about buying a lucky bamboo they are easy to luck after and look very stylish.
Bonsai trees
Perhaps a Japanese Acer?
