What do the size numbers on a men's dress shirt indicate?
Question:I have a Ralph Lauren oxford which says on it:
16 (in large lettering)
34/35 (in smaller lettering below the 16)
What are these numbers measurements of?

16 is the neck size
34/35 is the arm length
The 16 means the width of your neck and 34/35 means the arm length.
16 is the inches around the neck.
The other number is the inches from the middle of the back of the neck to the cuff or your wrist.
This sizing method makes so much more sense than women's sizes... an 8??!? Where did that number come from? It's not any kind of measurement- inches around the waist, height, arm length, neck size... I may be "an 8," but there's nothing on me that is 8 inches...
