I was given some furry cactus in flower.two years ago. They,ve never flowered again. Why?

Question:They are small furry cactus and look quite healthy. I keep them in the front porch where they get plenty of heat and light. I give them a special cactus feed. why wont they flower?

Answers:
Cacti only flower every four-twenty years depending on the variety. And then the temperature has to be exactly right. Many cacti never flower. But there still healthy.

You might not be giving them the right type of food and some of them have to be put in total darkness a certain time a year for a certain period of time, like a Christmas cactus. I have one and I have forgotten three years in a row that it has to go in the closet from the end of September until about Thanksgiving in order to get them to bloom and during that time you don't give them but just enough water to keep them alive until you pull them out.
