How can you make warm or hot water come out of a garden hose?

Question:I saw it on tv one time, they were showing you how to make hot water come out of the hose by doing somthing with the water heater, but I didn't pay alot of attention. Does anyone know how to do this?

Answers:
check your hot water heater some of them have a fusset that you can screw your hose to or the hot water line to your washer ....

You attach your hose to the hot water heater faucet.
You would just plumb it the same way you plumb the faucets inside the house.
if it's an outdoor hose, get a black one and leave it in the sun, the water will get very hot and stay warm if you don't use it at high pressure. If indoors, there is a spigot on bottom of water heater for drainage which will acccept a hose fitting, be carefull, it's very hot!!
On every water heater there is a hose bib that you can connect a hose to.it doesn't matter what color it is or the length.

Some water heaters have a hose bib with a round handle, some have a hose bib with a slot in the top so that you can turn it on with a screw driver.

And while you are at it, water heaters should be drained at least 3 times a year to get rid of the setiments in the tank. This will make your water heater last a few years longer
As it's a bit obvious to connect your hose to the hot faucet if you want to squirt hot water, I suspect you mean how do you use your garden hose to generate hot water?

If so, you connect one end of your hose to a faucet, and the other end to where you want your hot water. Between the two, you want the water to absorb as much heat from the sun as possible, which means it needs to run outside, be as long as reasonably possible, and have the water running slowly.

The thinner the hose, the more surface area to be heated, and the better it will work; but ordinary garden hose is fine. If you zig-zag the hose and sandwich it between two thin metal sheets, they'll get hot and transfer the heat to the hose better. (Thin copper pipe is even better than garden hose). If you use the metal, or just the hose, paint the outside black to also help absorb the heat better.

For proper Solar Heating, the ends of the hose are connected to either end of the coil in a hot water cylinder - having filled the hose and coil with water (and a bit of antifreeze). You also need a small pump to circulate the water. The pump keeps pumping the water out to be heated in the sun, then back into the coil where it transfers some of the heat to the water in the cylinder, then back out into the sunshine to be heated some more, etc.

If you want your boiler to be able to heat the cylinder as well, then you need a special hot water cylinder witth two coils (one for boiler, one for solar).

We've got a proper solar panel about 10' x 10', and it's more than enough to heat 2 x 50 gallon cylinders without needing the boiler at all in the summer.
Hello I would think you hook it up to the hot water outlet...If it was on t.v. with something on a water heater maybe they were draning the heater.?
