Have you ever had a garage sale and do you have any interesting stories from that experience?
Question:I just had a yard sale for the first time in my life and I couldn't believe what an awful experience it was! Even though I priced everything low ('cause I am really in a rush to sell everything), people still bargain, make unreasonable offers (such as $3 for a DVD player) and then scoff at me when I say no :) Some also went inside the house and started opennig kitchen cabinets, even though I specified that only the stuff outside is for sale. Others bring kids with them and let them throw stuff around without disciplining them. Etc etc etc
I was so tired after yesterday, that I decided I'd rather take the rest of my stuff to charity than go thru this one more day.
Can you share your garage sale experience, especially if you had some interesting or weird buyers?:)

I was at my best friend's house when they were having a garage sale. My friend's older sister was in the process of sorting through a bag that had some of her old hair care stuff in it. There was a brush full of woman's hair in it. She had put it out on the table, but then forgot to take it away and throw it in the trash, which was what she planned to do.
About an hour later, some strange woman came along and bought the brush and a few other knick knacks for $2.
Yard selling is an experience. I have never done it because I cannot watch the people all the time and am afraid of someone stealing...If I did one it would be me alone...no help. I think you did good at noticing what went on and somethings I would of never left happen like the woman going into your home. ..
Please try again because I know other women who have made money doing it and yes they had help...
I'm with you on giving it to a charity but no more garage sales for me.
garage sale, u mean junk give away? I quit having them due to people wanting something for nothing. Put a quarter price tag on it and they want 3 for that price. If you own a home, donate to goodwill,1st invintory stuff, especially clothes, and talk to cpa about list of amount you can write the stuff off on tax returns. YES write off on fed tax returns! I have madew over $200 on yard sales for selling junk, nick nacks etc. One thing you may want to do is make a sign that says all prices FIRM.
