Is there a machine that you can buy that can make neat holes in wood? (ie for a deadbolt lock to fit in)?

Question:I need to be able to cut neat holes into doors with minimum effort.

Answers:
There is a drill bit kit at home improvement stores especially for door locks.

Use a drill!
It's called a router.

If you don't want to be so lazy, use a chisel and a hammer.

.
get a hole saw (you can attach it to the end of a drill). they come in different sizes
there are different types of drill bits that are designed for perfect round holes in wood and metal go to b+q
I'd use a hammer and chisel(s).
Yes. you can purchase them at any lowes or home depot, and the kits include a jig that clamps to the door, and usually the holesaws required. you set the height by measuring where you want the knob, then clamp the jig on. take your power drill and bore through the door with the holesaws. it's pretty simple, and about as painless as doorknobs get.
Holesaw!
A holesaw drill bit, available at any DIY store.
Use a drill!!
Well you could try poking it with your finger but personally I find a drill generally works better every time.
Drill and chisel.
Options:

(1) Regular Power drill with a spade bit (cutting holes to put door spindle through)

(2) As before a chisel & hammer.

(3) Router - bit harder to operate especially if working on the edge of the door (sits better on a large flat surface - good for letter box.)

(4) There is a drill bit out there that has a serrated edge instead of a continuous thread, which is good for drilling holes which you can then 'slot'
you can buy a set of door hole saws--they come in a package of 2--one for the knob hole & one for the deadbolt hole. they attatch to a drill. you can buy for wood doors or metal doors
