Anyone know a home remedy for aphids on potted english ivy?

Answers:
Make a two parts water to one part liquid dish soap mix, let stand for awhile so the suds go away, place in clean spray bottle ( window cleaner bottle well rinsed) and gently spray the plant with the mixture.
Don't forget the underside of the leaves!
Place the plant away from direct sun until completely dry (sun will burn the plant while it's wet with the soap).
Repeat every other day or so until bugs have bugged out.
Check other plants in the house for bugs and treat also, that way the little buggers will not return.
OR you can buy plant soap at the garden store.

i read dry milk with some water in spray bottle
Back in the day aphids were treated with dish soap from hand washing the dishes or laundry.

You can use a mild spray of Ivory laundry soap mixed with water, or another good soap is White King. These are powdered products.

You may have to reapply in a few days, but it is a safe alternative.

Good Luck!
go outside, find a ladybug & bring it in to the ivy. ladybugs love to eat aphids. if there's no ladybugs to be found, mix together some ivory dish soap (has to be dish soap, not detergent) a little bit of borax & water. spray or pour over the plant
rub the leaves with a damp cloth with dish soap and water mix.. then take the rest of the mix and put it in a spray bottle and spray daily until they are gone.
