What is the maximum height a neighbour can build a boundary wall in the uk??
Question:
Answers:
Hello Stacey - I see all the lounge bar lawyers have come out of the woodwork to try to answer this.
Between gardens the maximum height for a wall or fence is 2 metres (6ft 6in). Where it is to be placed anywhere adjacent to a highway (including the footpath), i.e. round the front garden boundary, you are only permitted to go up to 1 metre (3ft 3in). Anything higher than quoted requires planning permission. If your property is Listed or within a Conservation Area then you must always speak to the Planning Department before doing anything as these rules may not apply.

I think it is 6ft
ive heard it isnt allowed to block your view or light. but check it out with your local council.
2 meters
Six feet.
2 metres, over that planning permission is required
.
I think the general rule is as long as it doesnt block out your garden with light.our neighbours have done just that
Six foot.
if its the back garden, then its 6ft, if its the front then its 4ft 6inch. and you have to ask permission first by the local authority to do the front
i think its 6ft, but i would check with your council thay should be online..
I know a few friends who work in the building' industry and the height of a boundry wall must be no more than 6ft above ground level
One mtr without planning, 2 mtr in the back
this also applies to fencing or trellising,
it varies nationally but usually its about 5 ft for a front garden and 8 ft for a back garden or if it is a large boundary then i think it is 2 meters but if not sure then contact you local council
ARE YOU JELOUS MY NEIGHBOUR IS OF MY NEW WALL. HE CARNT COMPETE, IS THIS WALL BLOCKING LIGHT? IF NOT GROW UP YOURE SAD.
