What are those little brown bugs called? They hide in cereals, flour and rice.?
Question:Those evil critters infest food, and I am finding them all over our kitchen. My mum and I want to get rid of them, but we're not sure what they're called! If you know what they are/where they come from/how they can be removed from a kitchen (they lie dormant - EW!), let me know.

And not to gross you out, but one of the stories talks about a grandmother that told her grandchild it was okay to eat them. I remember my grandmother telling me the same thing. LOL Rest assured, I didn't believe her.

Weevils
Keep all your dry goods in a ziplock baggie or tightly sealed cannister. Sometimes they are in your food from the store! I don't know where they come from, sorry!

there are a few types of bugs that it could be but the most common would be a roach or weavel. the best way to get rid of roaches would be combat gel.

At our house we just call them little brown bugs, but the answer is probably wevils. They are born in cereal, flour and rice. Came in as insect eggs. Throw out the affected boxes and don't keep new ones so long. Call the manufacturer and complain. They will probably send you coupons for fresher supplies.
I believe what you have described are called "weevils".
Check out this website on how to eliminate them:

they are weevils.. they like to hang in grain.
They're weevils. Forget the bug spray, you'll just poison yourself. Check everything in your kitchen that's starchy. The eggs come in with the product and hatch out there. Put some of the product in a small bowl and watch it for movement. If you see any, get rid of the whole batch, wash the canister or whatever it was stored in, or get rid of the box, bag, etc. Anything you're not sure of, keep it sealed tightly and check it every time you start to use it. I learned this from my exterminator, when I had them so badly they'd even invaded my sugar canister and a box of salt.
