I imagine u mean "flats" of flowers. that im sure depends were u live and shop. i am in suburbs of big city.. I can go to a nursery & get for $12-$16, big homestores have for maybe $12, so Id say over $10, BUT they lasy you ALL summer long, you keep watering & maybe even feeding them some miracle grow--& wa-la u have beauty in your yard. 1 flat has like 24 or 36 little plants in it. So 1-2 flate is PLENTY for a yard. put around tree beds, around sidwalks, a birm, in planters. Yes make your own planter WAY CHEAPER if u want to save a dime, & honestly can look so much nicer. u r not asking, but just get a pot, planter, some nice soil, put larger taller plants towards the back & just put them in. I usually put like a taller spiky green almost looks like wild grass in the back. I get comments all the time on my planters. I spend like $10 mayb $15 if im goin fancy, & stores sell that for the $60! & as for the time of year, they are more expensive now, people start to buy at mothers day,now, & so many people buy the next couple weeks, prices get cheaper as the summer goes, but also the selection not as nice, maybe not as nice looking, too much sun, not enough watering in store, so more work for u to get going, but it saves u a few bucks. You could even check local churches & schools, sometimes they sell flowers & cheaper!
