When is the safest time to plant annuals in central wisconsin?

Question:I want to get my flowers in my yard and am afraid of frost, when is it safe to get them out there.

Answers:
I plant mine around the beginning of May. since you are further north than me, you can still plant early, but you might have to cover your flowers with old sheets or something at night until it is a bit warmer.
the only annual I ever had trouble with planting early was impatients...the colder weather stunted their growth and they were more prone to disease...I learned my lesson and now wait with those until memorial day..hope this helped!

Usually Memorial Day weekend. We also live in Wisconsin and always plant that weekend. With our mild spring now it's tempting to plant now but from past experience we are waiting. Happy gardening!
