What's the best way to get rid of a wasp's nest?

Question:Apparently, our local council (Macclesfield) charge £51 to get rid of one. I have two, so that's £102. Ideally, I'd like to do it myself so I don't have to splash the cash. Any ideas anyone?

Answers:
It depends on what kind of wasps you have. If it is building it's nest under the eaves of your home, you can buy a can of wasp spray, stand back and shoot them with it. WD 40 also works. When finished take the nest down and burn it. If the nest is in the ground use WD 40. Stay as far back as possible.

we had one in our garden years ago . we blocked the whole with cerment . problem solved
call out pest control from your council x
We used a power hose for your watering hose when they were sleeping, nights are best, we just kept hosing them down, they haven't returned after a few times, good for keeping your car clean to, Make sure they are not active when doing this.
what sort of wasps killer ones? if not leave them they will go when they are finished, i have never hurt wasps just stay away from them
Guy some wasp spray from your local department (walmart type ) of store and spray the nest and wasps then once the wasps are all dead knock it down with a broom.
What ever you do, do it at nite so you get all of them. They come to the nest at nite.I use to take a long broom handle with a old rag and kerosene on it.Lite it and burned their wings, then stomp them.Get the nest and burn it and your trouble is over...But they sale spray,I never had good results with them.
