How can I get rid of gnats?

Question:I have gnats in my bathroom and I can't seem to get rid of them...I know it's likely b/c it's a moist room but I have tried one suggestion, like using a bowl of vinigar, but it did NOTHING.
Any other suggestions??
Thanks

Answers:
you may have a water or sewer leaking under your house. we had a bad sewer leak last winter. its fixed but now we have gnat all so coming up from under the house. wife wants me to spread lime powder under the house to kill all the bad stuff. my plumber told her that the lime would do the trick now that the leak is fixed.

I've heard dryer sheets work if you put them on your hat. I don't know how useful that would be in a bathroom though.

had the same problem in kitchen and one of my neighbors suggested the following info.

she said gnats live in sink drains. first thing in the morning pour piping hot cup of water down drain.(microwaved hot water) We did this for two days in a row and no more gnats.
