Why do non-stick silicone bakeware stick?

Question:I've heard so much about the "amazing non-stick silicone bakeware ", so I purchased one. But it not only sticks, the bakeware itself also becomes sticky even after a few washes! Why?

Answers:
maybe a a bad quality one.. but thanks i know what to look out for if i go buy one

Did you buy the cheap stuff? We have some and it works just fine.
Likly, it was scratches already.

A smooth surface is required for non-stick.

the stickiness just means it needs some hot water and degreaser.

maybe u used a metal utensil and that messed up the non-stick stuff
It is a marketing ploy, guaranteed to get 1/2 muffins and cakes. Use a Pam or other baking spray. The silicone mats and spatulas are great but not the baking pans. I use commercial pans with spray.
