How can I bring my half dead plant back to life?
Question:i have a peace lily and I put it outside last weekend for a little sunshine. Apparenly it was too much! I don't know much about plants either. Can someone tell me how to nurse it back to beauty and how to care for it daily?
Answers:
OH Boy the poor thing got sunburned! Look to see if the leaves underneath of the larger leaves have damage also, if not trim off the upper leaves and it will come back it will just take some time. In about a month give it some ferilizer and that will help it. Good luck. in the future never put a interior plant in direct sunshine always make sure it is under the shade of a tree or something or leave a interior plant in a car when it is hot outside. Hope this helps..If you don't see any new leaves on it within a month or so it probably a gonner sorry
I dont know much, but i do know that if it is wilting, put DISTILLED water into the soil, it will cause the plant to uptake more water through osmosis.
Make sure it has enough water. Plants when they are first put outside can suffer from environment shock and get sunburned, just give it a few days.
Cut off all the dead parts. Then water it every other day. Keep it inside near a window that gets sunlight.
Sun-shock can even kill a cactus that has been kept in a shady area - I have unknowingly killed many plants this way.
Supposedly, the product SUPERTHRIVE is good for everything & helps plants recover from all kinds of stress. I didn't know about it to try with any sun-shocked plants.
The main ingredients are vitamin B & rooting hormone. You can get it @ Home Depot or a nursery or garden store.
Good Luck!
