I need to have install a 4 outlet box to plug a lottery machine into. How much should I pay?
Question:A 3 seperate wire circuit to provide 120 volts and current up to 15 amps. the circuit must go directly to the fuse box.( which is approx 2 feet away parrell to the box). Very easy. The outlet must be within 5 feet of the lottery terminal. seems very simple for an experience electricin to do.

A few things to consider. Can the new conduit (containing new wire) and the new receptical be mounted on the exterior of the wall? Or must it be installed within the wall? Also, is the fuse box accessible (able to mount new conduit to it and run wire out of it) outside the wall or must the wall be opened to allow access? Most important, does your fuse box have the capacity to provide an additional 15 amp circuit?
If everything accessible and able to be installed outside the wall, allow about 30 minutes for parts and tools gathering, about 1 hour to install, about 30 minutes to clean up and pack.
If everything must be done inside the wall, it's a whole different story. Add around 1 1/2 hours time for labor plus labor for wall repair/repaint when done.
Another thing, if you need a permit from the city (hopefully not) the electrician's time to obtain it and the actual permit cost may be more than the job's cost.
Be sure to use a licensed electrician, not a handyman, especially in a commercial installation as yours (obviously a retail store).
In my area electricians charge around $70.00 per hour (so approx $140 labor in your case), plus a possible service call charge, plus parts (approx. $40-50).
When it comes to electrical work, don't be cheap. You'll only spend for this one time, it will last a lifetime done right. When a fire is reported in the news, what's the most common reason?.electrical.
And don't call an electrician and tell him how "easy" the job is. It's an insult. If it's so easy, you do it.
When he's there doing the job, stay away, don't look over his shoulder, don't talk to him while he's working. You'll get the best job if you don't try to bargain, or make suggestions or comments.
Remember, in important issues you get what you pay for.
