My brand new tumbled brick walkway looks like the bricks are being hit with a hammer and breaking?not normal??

Whoever installed it did it improperly. The ground and fine stone under the bricks needed to be compacted with a compactor or a steam roller before the bricks could be laid down. This probably wasn't done or done incorrectly so now, when you drive over the bricks, the ground under them gives a little, the bricks become unlevel and your car crushes them. After all, bricks are made of fairly soft material and are not meant for driving over with a 4 to 6,000 pound car.
If you want a brick looking drieway, you can get regular concrete with colored additive in it to make it look brick color and there are many companies out there that use rubber mats and tamp or press them into the concrete while it's still wet and it looks just like brick, but is really soild concrete.
