A family of raccoons has just moved in our yard there is a mama & 6 babies what is the right thing to do ?
Question:They are eating all the cat food for our outside cats (2). The mama is about 20 lbs. the babies are still small like a house cat, they are so very cute but we don't want animal control to kill them & we don't want them living here. In a pickle. Help.

Get yourself some HAVE-A-HEART TRAPS! You'll need several to catch the whole family. The humane society probably has some to lend or maybe animal control -- call them!! They can also help you get the animals back to the wild as a family unit!

Sorry, calling animal an animal control officer is the best...especially when he is off-duty and has $20.00-$80.00 of your money to assist you them to a safer, more wilderness area
Call your local police department. They should have an animal control department. Ask them if they would relocate the animals for you. I think that they take care of things like that, and don't believe they kill the animals.
call just about any vet and they will give you the number of someone who will live trap them and then rerelease in an area far, far away from your cat food.
Well, there good with sage and rosemary cooked slowly in a pot. Kinda messy at first but feed you for a week with a group like that. But if your not into eating them you could always go and get a tranq gun and tranq them and move them your self that way you wont have to pay others every time you have a problem with an animal.
