Firewood. co2 emmissions??

Question:Firewood. co2 emmissions??
hi i have a lot of fire starters(small wood for starting fires) i would like to know a reasonable price to sell a 15kg bag. also is there any c02 emmissions from burning it and if so what is it in comparison to coal

Answers:
You charge what you think is a reasonable price. a
Are you thinking of selling them for profit or to get rid of them. Most of the UK is now under smoke control regulations so I would think there will be little demand for firelighters. And as warning I remember a regulation saying the weight should be clearly marked on the container but few people bother doing it. By you not doing this you could find yourself in bother. Of course you will inform the tax authorities you are making money from this enterprise. Love regulations Grrrrrrrrr

first off i think you mean co carbon manixode co2 is carbon dixode co is bad for you co2 you breath that every day the co emmisions is not as bad as in charcoal but anything burning will ommit co $50 would proably be a good price
Just a point for clarity (C= carbon; CO= carbon monoxide; CO2= carbon dioxide)

Wood is a renewable resource and using it to generate energy is a largely carbon neutral process as burning it only releases the carbon it absorbed in growth. The only associated carbon would be in transporting the wood. The net CO2 emissions from a power station using wood compared to one using coal or gas to generate electricity could be up to 90 per cent lower.

Wood is an excellent fuel for small community combined heat and power stations. Many local authorities support biofuel or Community CHP and supply wood pellets in bags of 15kg for around £2.75.

For more info, especially on the social and environmental benefits of wood as a renewable biofuel see the link below.
