Has anyone ever seen a gold ladybug insect?

Question:my little sister found a gold colored ladybug outside our house yesterday, and was wondering if anyone ever seen something lke that? the ladybug looks space-age looking,,, its feet are underneath, but it has a caramel colored edge that goes around the shell. (kinda like the way a turtle has an edge around its shell) the best way i can explain that.
im sure theres more gold ladybugs, but i never seen one before.. any inputs would be appreciated.

Answers:
YES. In my life I have only seen two. I've also seen a golden fire ant! Pretty cool. I think this might be a defect in the bug...but I'm not sure. Though it isn't very common.

no
It's a June bug
ye kinda lite orange
Yes I have a while back!
Beautiful..I wanted to keep it but of course that is not the right thing to do...
They are a rare find where I live...
:-)
never seen one
I don't think they are ladybugs, we call them barn beetles. We live in a rural area, and especially around harvest times they swarm the house, trying to wiggle in any crevice they can find, and they are biting little varmits on top of being annoying as heck.
around here in pa we get them all the time..they are lady bug imposters...they eat plants and stuff instead of other bugs...we kill them
YES! Tell ask mike to take a jump in the lake!
Yes I have several in fact. Ladybugs, also called lady or ladybird beetles, come in a large number of different species, colors, and sizes. Members of the large family Coccinellidae, they are all shiny, rather small, sort of round, and have short legs. Some have more spots than others, some have no spots at all, and the colors range from yellow to deep red to black

Check out the link.. Remember those little cute "lady bugs" can and do bite. Ive been bitten a few times in my life which is why I will NOT allow them on my 2 kids
Yes! I heard the gold ones bite.

Hey, if you want an interesting story about gold beetles, try reading The Gold Bug by Edgar Allen Poe.

Warning: The story DOES use the N-word (but it had a different connotation then - just like in Mark Twain stories):

Good luck! :)
a friend had them in her garden, very shiny gold tiny like a lady bug and quick as lightening they were hiding under squash leaves and eating away at them.
