this is really easy. go to any hardware store and look for sonic repellers. they are these things that look like stakes that you put in the ground. they make a sonic pulse which drives away the gophers. their ears are really sensitive.
sorry there is no other way to go that. exept to go find some hunting trap cages they use for catching rabits. Just use a carrot as bait. then go far from your house and set them free.
Dig them a hole into the yard next door.

are they ground hogs? last year a whole family of groundhogs tried moving into my moms garden eating everything.
