Answers:
You can put down chilli peppers (dried) or mix chillies with water and spray your toms (wash them when you pick them!)
Squirrels hate the taste and smell of chilli
get a cat or dog. or, do not grow tomatos, I don't know of anything else that will help much.
Don't grow tomatoes.
put wire fences around and on top of them...something you could lift to tend to them...and yea a dog would work too :P
put a signboard "poisonous tomatoes, go to the next garden, please"
USE MOTTO BALL IN YOUR GARDEN
Take the tomatoes and put them outside your garden. Save to little squirrels legs. lol
A .22 caliber rifle would probably be the best solution. If you shoot one of them the rest will probably take off. Plus you could have some good dinnertime snacks. Squirrell is good stuff...mmmm mmmmm good. You could also put a pan of anti-freeze out for them to poison them, but that is kinda inhumane.
I do not know where you live and squirrells are probably not in season, but in some places, it is perfectly legal to shoot squirrells. You can eat them, I know to somebody that never has, it seem weird but they taste great!! If you live in a populated area, like me and most people, you cant be in your yard with a shotgun, but it is just an option.
you could put a small fence around your tomato plants.
get a 'scare crow' sprinkler. This is a motion-sensored sprinkler which turns on when it detects animal motion.
It works great for cats, dogs, squirrels and the like.
