Go out to Wal-Mart and get a pack of Terro. Place it in two or three spots. They'll be gone within a couple of days.
burn the countertop. ants are impossible to get rid of. leave the house to them and move.
Set an example for the others using one of their comrades.
MAKE sure their all watching and stomp on the little fella.

boric acid works really good if you put along to base boards
or just wipe your counter top down with vineger
You need to use a spray to get rid of them. Make sure it is safe for your home and the environment though. Once they're gone, the only way to keep them from coming back is to avoid leaving sugars, sweets and other foods where they can get to them.
use cornmeal.they'll eat it, and then blow up..
well for starters you spray this anti ant spray or you call a specialist to fumagate your home.
Don't leave food out make sure there is no sticky residue on the top also sprinkle talcum powder and white pepper they wont walk over it also different ants like different food you will need to experiment to find out which bait the ants prefer: Jam bait 1 part jam 1 part peanut butter 2 parts boracic acid ..combine ingredients in an old margarine container tape lid down firmly so that pets and kids cant get to the mix [boracic acid is toxic] but cut small holes along the base so that ants can get into the bait the ants will take the bait back home Mince bait 1 part mince 1 part peanut butter 2 parts boracic acid ..follow above instructions can't promise it will work but it just might i just live with the buggers they disappear finally
If you are looking for a kid safe solution, if you know there they are coming from, you can put down some cinnamon ants will not cross a line of the stuff.
