How can I get rid of wild Pidgeons and wood pidgeons that are overunning my garden. They have become vermin.?
Question:I need a quick answer as my life has been made hell by the birds.They fight all the time and scare off other birds as well as make mess everywhere. The kids wont go outside ,friends wont come to visit and my home has become like a prison . I am not by any means a cruel man I just want to know how to get rid of this vermin

get yourself a couple of plastic owls and put them on display,birds are scared of preditors so they won`t come.
They only come because they are being fed. The local authority can find out who's feeding them.
You can get electronic bird scarers. Failing that, buy an air rifle.
Stop putting out food if you do so and try scaring them off when you see them. Hopefully they will get the message and move on. The website below has a variety of bird-scarers that might work. They are a little expensive, but there might be cheaper alternatives out there. I cant think of anything else really. Good luck!
Get a good air rifle or a couple of hungry cats. Polecat also very good for pigeons. The wood pigeons are probably native and they don't cause trouble other pigeons just shoot. Find out who is putting out the food for them and have a word.
You can call pest control and they could net them this is best way to get rid of many birds in one go.
Play a recording of an eagle, that'll have them scarpering.
Some one must be feeding them ,Take away they food supply they will soon go else where
I have the same problem but under my balcony they have made a nest. No-one is feeding them because no-one can get up there. It is a house with balcony, and they have built a nest. We have a cat but that don't scare them off.
I have had the same problem. I am not allowed to shoot the wild pigeons because we are not allowed to use shotguns in the nearby of houses.
So I have had to contrive something that gave a bang ressembling that of a shotgun. I found two wood bars which I hit against each other whenever I see or hear a pigeon in the nearby. I do it mostly in evenings when the birds are trying to rest for the night in the nearby trees. The pigeons fly immediately far away, and so they might not come back for the night. They had started building their nests which they apparently have abandonned.
The idea is about making them lose their habit of visiting our gardens.
An idea would be to purchase some large protection nets to lay upon the vegetables while the plants are little. A ferocious cruel idea would be activating a strong rat-trap with a strawberry or some other quite visible bait and so kill the pigeon in that way (you may have to fix the trap with a wire as the bird might only get hurt and so fly away with the trap) - I haven't tried to kill pigeons with a trap but I did it with blackbirds some years ago before I no more wanted to be so cruel.
You might purchase a large protection net to spread on your growing little plants if you do not want to cruelly scare the pigeons away.
